A soldier found dead in a barracks on Fort Stewart the night of Jan. 22 has been identified.
Pvt. Adam Kiedrowski, 20, was attached to the 87th Combat Service Support Battalion, 3rd ID. Kiedrowski’s unit is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in the next several weeks, said Fort Stewart spokesperson Kevin Larson. Kiedrowski had never deployed, Larson said.
The private’s death is still under investigation, but “there doesn’t appear to be foul play,” Larson added.
Kiedrowski joined the Army in January 2009 and arrived at Fort Stewart on Dec. 15. He served as a wheeled vehicle mechanic, according to Larson.
The young soldier’s home of record is Trempealeau, Wisc.
