A fire consumed two families’ personal belongings on Jan. 27 in the Southern Oaks housing area of Fort Stewart. No injuries were reported.
The Fort Stewart Fire Department and the Hinesville Fire Department responded to the fire that occurred at about 10 a.m. last Wednesday.
“The combined efforts of the fire departments is a testament to the teamwork and strong bonds between the installation’s Directorate of Emergency Services and first responders in the neighboring communities,” said Fort Stewart spokesperson Kevin Larson.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fort Stewart Fire Department and CID, Larson said.
Donations for adult, children and infant’s clothing and furniture are being accepted at the Marne Chapel, Southern Oaks Community Center and Army Community Service, Bldg. 87.
