On March 6, Hinesville’s traveling baseball team, the 12U Barracudas, won its first tournament at the Jeff Davis County Baseball Complex in Hazlehurst. They defeated Pierce County in the final game for the championship trophy.

The squad played three games and amassed 37 runs. They gave up only four runs in the championship game. The boys hit a combined six homeruns in three games by five different batters. Follow the Barracudas’ progress on their Facebook page under "Barracudas baseball." The boys are coached by Paul Kardeen.

The players thanked their coaches for their time and hard work during the winter break.
