Food drive nets a ton of food

Hinesville Curves members recently participated in the gym's 14th annual food drive, which netted more than 2,100 pounds of non-perishable food for the Manna House. Thelma Lane, above, collected more than 400 pounds by inviting her neighbors to contribute. Curves owner Peggy McRae introduced Manna House to the Feinstein Foundation Challenge, which will match the amount of food collected during March and April. Four running for Ludowici Council seats

Qualifying ended Wednesday for the two vacant seats on the Ludowici City Council. According to Ludowici assistant city clerk Tina Skipper, Price Chapman Jr. and Jim Fuller qualified in District 2, and Janis M. Goode and Kathy L. Phillips qualified in District 4.
